Notice Regarding Peanut Products

The USDA Food Distribution Program has placed a hold and recall notice on peanut butter products and roasted peanuts from three manufacturers.  Please know that PYLUSD Food Services Program does not offer peanut products through the lunch program and is not directly involved in this recall notice.

Secondary Activities Directors are requested to immediately check and remove peanut products that might be offered in vending machines.   Additionally any fund- raising activities that include the sale of cookie dough may be affected if the peanut product comes from the following companies:

  • Peanut Corporation of America
  • Parnell’s Pride
  • King Nut

The National Girl Scout cookie campaign is currently underway.  The Girl Scout website indicates their cookies are not affected by this recall.

Please be assured that I am monitoring this peanut recall closely and will notify you immediately of any updates or changes.
